THE ART OF GIFT-GIVING
09/11/10Gift-giving is a tradition as old as time itself. It’s known throughout the world and it doesn’t matter whether you’re Chinese, European or an Eskimo, it’s always in fashion. Gift-giving is probably the only tradition that occurs throughout the year as well on different occasions. Whether it’s someone’s birthday or wedding, the arrival of a new baby or the purchase of a new apartment, gifts are always crucial as well as welcome.
Never underestimate the power of a gift. To some gift-givers that power can be so addictive that they’ll stay true to it whether it’s Christmas, Easter or someone’s Bar Mitsva. The main idea of gift giving is to witness the reactions of the gift-receiver. Nothing is more valuable to a gift-giver than the chance to bask in the happy expression of the gift-receiver. After all, time and effort have been put into finding the perfect gift.
At this time of year, as I watch the snow falling down, gift-giving is ever more topical. Christmas is fast approaching and it seems that presents are among everyone’s minds. People are anxious to come up with wondrous gift ideas for their loved ones, children are anxiously waiting for those treasured toys and bric-a-bracs they’ve wished for.

Sometimes people forget that it isn’t enough just to satisfy the receiver, you must find a gift that has a little bit of yourself as well. This way you will always stay in the gift-receivers thoughts. Nothing is more precious than receiving a carefully selected gift that has been picked out with me in the gift-givers thoughts and finished with the slightest detail. It is important to make the gift-receiver feel special and the surest sign of a successfully selected gift is the gratefulness and honest joy of the gift-receiver. Make sure to truly put thought into gift selecting as it is the “you mean a lot to me” messages that make gifts so very highly appreciated.
The art of gift-giving is delicate and extremely rare. If you happen to have the ability of a great gift-giver, consider yourself lucky. At the wonderful time of Christmas, you must respect your loved ones and translate that respect into gift selecting, this way your utmost inner thoughts and feelings will also be visible to the gift-receiver. At Living Deauville we will gladly help you wrap your gifts into delightful presents, the only thing you have to do is to pick the gift for this wondrous celebration of Christmas.

AMBIANCE AT FORMEX
30/08/10It was the night of August 11th and two excited sisters stepped aboard a Silja Line cruiseliner to travel to the marvellous kingdom of Sweden. The sisters were thrilled to once again experience the wonders of the bi-annual fair of Formex, international interior and gift fair, in Stockholm which harvests a jungle of the most beautiful products and innovative ideas. The sisters were confident that this Fall would be the best fair yet. Little did they know that the upcoming Fall in their store would take breathtaking measures thanks to what they were about to experience.
As one of the lucky sisters, I must say that the Formex fair this Fall did exceed my expectations. As we sent out with my sister to look for something unique, outstanding and simply new, we found products that endowed all those features we were excitedly wishing upon. Not only did the Formex fair fill our little heads with designs more beautiful than others, ideas more innovative than before and items which were just simply beautiful. We returned home feeling richer than ever as we had met some of the most wonderful people and had some great experiences.
On Friday August 13th, even though we were a little suspicious that the bad karma of the day alone might affect us somehow, we found ourselves at the most grand stand at the entire fair, completely swept off our feet. The ambience of this magical place that we were in was out of this world. Everything was finished with the slightest detailing, with beautiful autumn shades of brown, magnificent furniture and small decorational items. Above all a voice sweeter than ever heard, a beautiful singer Marina Mårtensson, delighting us with her music. In the midst of this scene we met a delightful woman, who inspired us to believe in ourselves and our dreams as she once way back believed in hers and her husband’s. Her story of how she became an entrepreneur was incredible and one-of-a-kind. Hearing her story made me think about our story so far and wonder if one day we will be as grateful and look back on these days with pride and joy. This experience gave me strength to believe in what my sister and I have to offer, gratefulness that we are able to travel this road of entrepreneurship with each other and hope that from here on in things will always have the sunny side up.
